All Creatures Veterinary Hospital is a multi-service facility. We provide excellent primary care for dogs and cats, and we acknowledge when our patients might be better served by a specialist. We can not provide 24 hour nightime care or weekend services so we will refer you to emergency care facilities in either Fresno or Merced.
We also use the services of a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist from the Oakhurst area to provide complimentary care to many of our patients.

Lab work that can be done accurately and economically in our own facility is done in a matter of minutes while you wait. We have the state of the art equipment that many professional, commercial laboratories have. This includes commonly performed blood chemistries, urinalysis, electrolytes, blood gases, and white/red blood cell counts.
We use a surgery table and surgical fixtures similar to what you would find in a human hospital. There is one isoflurane anesthetic machine in the treatment room where patients are prepared for surgery and another in the surgery room. Each patient has a freshly sterilized surgical instrument pack. Each patient receives an intravenous (IV) catheter in the event they will need intra-operative fluids or emergency medication. All patients under general anesthesia receive constant blood-pressure and pulse monitoring using our state-of-the-art Cardell Veterinary Monitor. We also utilize a Pulse Oximeter to monitor oxygenation of blood during anesthesia.
Our volumetric fluids auto-infusion pump is for patients with dehydration or other IV fluid needs. It counts the number of drops per minute and makes the drip go faster or slower as needed. We can ensure that our patients get the right volume of fluids at the correct flow rate.
We have a walk-on digital scale for most dogs, and an electronic table scale for cats and smaller dogs.
When you call in because your pet is coughing or has an odd rash for example, or you have a puppy with diarrhea, or a cat with upper respiratory symtoms, you will be asked to keep your pet in your car until the doctor or a technician can determine if your pet has an overly contagious disease. There is a separate entrance into the building to access the isolation ward. This is how we keep the risks of spreading serious illness between patients to a minimum. When hospital care is needed for pets with diseases that can be transmitted easily to other pets they stay in our isolation ward. Personnel change outerwear on the way into the ward, removing it and disinfecting their hands and feet on the way out.
