reimbursement coverage for your pet's eligible medical treatments,
surgeries, lab fees, X-rays, prescriptions and more, so that you can
make optimal healthcare decisions for your pet based on your
veterinarian's recommendation, rather than on the cost of treatment.
Here's how reimbursement works:
Typically pet insurance
providers use one of two methods in determining reimbursements:
a benefit schedule, which identifies how much is available per
incident, or “reasonable and customary fees,” which can change
based on the insurer’s discretion.
VPI uses a benefit schedule which is filed with the Department
of Insurance (DOI) so policyholders know how much reimbursement
is available for their pet’s accidents, injuries and illnesses.

No Surprises
VPI policies renew annually, and
claims filed during a pet's annual policy term are not
considered to be "pre-existing" or "exclusionary" upon renewal
to the next policy term. VPI also offers unlimited benefits for
the lifetime of your pet.
